We are a small family run business looking for a Logistics Coordinator to grow with the company and assist the Transport Manager in the day to day running of the department.

This role will require someone who has a passion for the job and will require out of hours working as well as ordinary office hours.

• Despatching outbound drivers, ensuring that correct paperwork is issued, and that all instructions regarding collections and deliveries are clear and understood.
• Monitoring of vehicle progress at all stages of its journey utilising the tracker and telephone system
• Ensuring any delays or issues potentially affecting performance are escalated appropriately
• Assist in resolving operational issues as appropriate, liaising with drivers, customers, delivery points or other stakeholders as required.
• Collating and presenting KPIs or other operational information as directed to demonstrate performance and improvement opportunities
• Assist other operational departments as directed to ensure operational or legal compliance is to the highest standard. Examples may include assisting with vehicle downloads, vehicle condition checks, investigating incidents, dealing with vehicle breakdowns etc
• Holiday cover for Transport Managers duties Despatch duties as and when required
• Flexibility to adapt to any situation in a fast moving environment

• PC literate (Word and Excel minimum)
• Although working as a team the ability to work on your own initiative will be important.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to follow processes effectively.
• Excellent time keeping skills
• Good geographical knowledge
• Experience of administration and route planning in a busy transport environment
• HGV licence and Management CPC desirable but not essential
