Description
We are proud of what we achieved to support Islington residents.

We want to lead the way in the sector, setting the standard for enabling residents to lead healthy, fulfilling, independent lives.

We have an ambitious vision for Adult Social Care and Strategic Commissioning which covers adults and children's commissioning, helping people in Islington to Start, Live and Age Well.

This is a proactive approach to fostering wellbeing through early intervention, prevention, a link to the wider determinants of health, strengths-based approaches, and the integration of health and care services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed individual to lead on Contract Quality, Brokerage and Contracts Teams.

You will be responsible for raising quality standards and practice of providers to deliver the best outcome for residents through monitoring, auditing and reporting to achieve continuous learning and practice improvement.

You will continually evaluate the service, ensuring quality and value for money from contracts while maintaining continuous delivery of the highest possible levels of service quality.

You will lead and contribute to provider engagement activity and build a commercial approach to effective market management, ensuring that the local market is clear about Islington's requirements and is supported to change and develop so that those requirements can be met.

This will involve building a strong collaborative relationship with partners ranging from Commissioners, Adult Social Care colleagues, Children's services, Public Health experts, residents and carers, to private, public and community sector employees.

You will be working in one of the most vibrant parts of London, with a diverse population, a unique cultural identity and a wealth of open spaces, theatres, museums, cinemas and galleries.

Wellbeing and work-life balance are priorities at Islington.

In addition to competitive salaries, we offer an excellent pension scheme, up to 30 days leave per year and lifestyle benefits like our 'cycle to work' scheme and discounts on gym membership and local Islington shops, health, beauty therapists, and much more.

Finally, if you come and work with us, we'll ask that you commit to our mission of creating a more equal Islington for all our residents, and that you work diligently and efficiently to help us achieve it.

We're looking for ambitious leaders to drive forward Islington Council's vision and priorities.

Watch thisshort videowhere the Leader of the Council, Kaya Comer-Schwartz, and Chief Executive, Linzi Roberts-Egan, explain what we're looking for in senior leaders and what it is like to work among other committed staff to make this borough a more equal place for residents.

You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, understand local needs and work with stakeholders to ensure a strong quality assurance process.

You will be as passionate as we are about finding new and innovative approaches to contract relationships and management, in order to provide the best possible services and help create a fairer, more equal Islington.

To achieve that you will need recent and relevant experience at a senior level.

You will also need knowledge and understanding of contract and brokerage functions, CQC requirements, the provider and social care interface, including awareness of national policy developments, legislation and statutory duties, responsibilities, and best practice in the fields of social care services.

Informal discussion is welcome. Please contact Jill Britton, Acting Director of Strategic Commissioning & Investment, on
