Duties of the Cook

Ensure highquality food production and adherence to food safety standards
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement
Measuring out meal ingredients according to a recipe
Prepping various ingredients such as meats and vegetables
Collaborating with the Kitchen Manager and Cooks to prepare meals
Serving food and drinks to their customers and employers
Cleaning up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitised at the end of the shift
Maintaining a pantry stock record
Rotating stock items as per established procedures
Restocking the pantry and fridge or freezer as necessary
Properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures
Ordering new ingredients as required

Skills Required for this Role

Inventory control and management
Maintaining hygienic and safe kitchen practices
Plating design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders
Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or food sector hospitality
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong problemsolving abilities to address operational challenges effectively
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fastpaced environment
