Estimator to be based in
West London for an
Immediate Start on a contract basis.....

Who We Are:

A-Spec is an established Carpentry & Building contractor based in Surrey; due to our ongoing expansion, we are looking for a part-time carpentry estimator to look after all new enquires and tender return submissions.

What We Required:

We are seeking to contract an experienced carpentry estimator, which has extensive experience within the new build sector.

Our estimator must have a good knowledge of the tender process including preparing allowances for all site prelims and calculating expected build programme durations.

You will be mostly preparing costings for one-off bespoke high-end residential or multi-unit properties both in residential and commercial sectors.

You'll be responsible for communicating with our client QS, preparing bills of quantities, variations and overseeing the whole estimation process until the contract stage.

What We Do:

We provide both labour-only and supply-and-fit contracts for the following services:

• Roof carpentry including complex designs
• Timber framing & floor joists
• Timber windows & doors
• Loft conversions & Garden Buildings
• 1st & 2nd Fix Carpentry Works
• Bespoke joinery

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding the tender legal requirements.
• Understanding the contractual requirements (e.g. drawn information, scope of works and specifications) for those tenders
• Understanding the industry standards that are required to be met.
• Engaging with specialist subcontractors, suppliers, designers, QS (or similar) to ensure we submit a competitive and accurate tender.
• Establish what resources are required for the efficient completion of the projects.
• Maintain good relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues.
• Have Extensive carpentry & Construction estimation knowledge both in the residential and new build sectors.
• Be Confident in pricing carpentry & construction projects and preparing detailed BOQ's
• Have an understanding of JCT standard forms of contracts or similar
• Have excellent IT Skills (particularly Microsoft Excel)
• Have a construction industry degree or professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB)

£27,847.79-£71,698.92 per year
