Fraser Carver recruitment is working with a rapidly exanding financial services company in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint a dynamic Business Analyst into their business change function.

Reporting into the Head of Proposition you will help formulate and communicate the business vision.

In our Agile software development environment, the Business Analyst represents both the proposition team and the project's key stakeholder with the developmentteam.

The BA interprets business requirements and then develops, and maintains a vision for the product or project, and is responsible for communicating that vision to the technical teams.


  • As a business analyst you will need to understand the business needs and help to manage, change and plan for the future in line with company goals. This could be for one or many projects, or as a permanent feature of the organisation.
  • You will need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the way the organisation works and the financial services sector it operates in, as you'll be helping the organisation to develop its functions, services and products to meet goals with internaland external stakeholders.
  • You will also play a key role in communicating between internal departments and external parties, acting as a 'translator' where necessary to convey how information technology can support the organisation's needs.
  • The BA will work with the Proposition Team and other business departments to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each project. The BA is responsible for the analysis, usability, quality, and delivery of a project. The BA isone of the key decision makers on requirements and determines the priorities of requirements, working to ensure that all stakeholders are engaged at each relevant stage of the development lifecycle.
  • The BA understands both the technical and business side of a project. This role requires an interest in the business, financial services, and an understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with end users, product owners and technical business analysts along with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and of the organisation as a whole and taking those needs and translating them into business requirements.
  • Work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service, function, or product provided.
  • Consider opportunities and potential risks attached to suggestions you make.
  • Work with the development team to identify the processes and information technology required to introduce your recommendations.
  • Gain agreement, usually from senior management, of the best method of introducing your recommendations to the business.
  • Communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments and help to address any uncertainty and concern.
  • Produce written documentation to support your work (both written and graphical/visual), report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary.
  • Support staff and teams in making your recommended changes, including helping to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure plans are made and processes are created to evaluate the impact of the changes made, including taking responsibility for overseeing and reporting on this evaluation.
  • Work with the development team to ensure they understand the vision for the product and are designing great products/features for our users.
  • Develop appropriately detailed requirements for products so that they are clearly understood by the development teams.
  • Act as the Business contact point for the internal product team, working to collaboratively resolve queries relating to the product.
  • Work with the development throughout the project to prioritise requirements, identify potential issues and find solutions to them.
  • Deliver value to stakeholders.
