Marine Engineering & Systems
The Buyer role is based within our Marine Engineering & Systems business area.


At our site in Rosyth, we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our engineering, specialised manufacturing, gas handling systems and naval marine businesses.


The role

The difference our new Buyer will make
As a Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Your experience will play a big part in operations across a variety of teams we have at Rosyth, including operational procurement, MRO and support of other additional Marine projects.


Day to day, you will be assisting in the process for tendering work by suppliers, ensuring all associated documents prepared and dispatched to companies/organisation invited to tender.

Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that purchase orders are processed in a timely manner, with suitable suppliers identified with price and delivery objectives are negotiated within budget and targets.

Ensuring a programme of supplier and sourcing reviews are carried out, which includes performance monitoring and managed appropriately, with alternative sources identified in order to meet business objectives.

In addition, you will be maintaining and building supplier relationships, ensuring delivery schedules are achieved and favourable terms agreed, identifying opportunities to improve the level of services or reduce the cost of items purchased and maintenance of the purchasing systems, with changes to statistical data.

Lastly, you will assist in identifying and gaining agreement to improvement plans relating to the purchase systems and processes.

This role provides a hybrid working arrangement of x2 days a week on-site at Rosyth, with the remaining xs3 days to be completed from home.


Essential Experience:

Recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience
Membership of a relevant professional body, e.g. CIPS level 4 or working towards (desirable)
Operational procurement experience (desirable)
Valid or ability to obtain SC Security Clearance
