A fantastic new opportunity working as a full time Income Assistant based in Oldham. The 3-month fixed term contact has a salary between £19,500 and £20,500 on offer. This role is based on site.

My client provides quality homes and support services within the community, supporting the most vulnerable. They provide support services to tenants, by giving appropriate advice and assistance to help them live independently.


Description

The key responsibilities of an Income Assistant will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Be first point of contact for housing services
  • Receive and answer enquiries by telephone, letter and electronically
  • Chasing housing benefit
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records and collect data and information to evidence performance around Income Collection
  • Chasing any claims made
  • Actively monitor all repayment arrangements on a regular basis and take appropriate action to ensure payment plans remain on track
  • Contacting internal and external suppliers
  • Actively encourage customers to take responsibility for their Housing benefit or Universal Credit claim, working with the Housing Support Worker to ensure that they are given appropriate support as required

Profile

The successful Income Assistant must possess the following skill set and experience;

  • Experience of working in Not for Profit and Charities or Housing Association
  • Ability to work successfully within team and work independently
  • Advanced background using Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, decisionmaking and workload management with the ability to prioritise.
  • Perception of rent account and numerical skills
  • To deal with queries and able to provide a solution
  • Good organisation skills
  • To have flexibility in your work and be able to meet deadlines
  • To manage and maintain records, files, and other documentation accurately
