Description
The DLG's Head of Operations is accountable for the implementation of our supported housing and sustaining the accommodation strategy across the Brighton & Hove locality, providing strategic and operational leadership to a range of services.
In this role you will lead a diverse staff team to provide high quality, safe, welcoming, and secure supported housing for young people at risk, utilising expertise from specialist functions from across the organisation, as well as developing strong local partnerships and business opportunities.
In delivering the role, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of our strategy for supported housing and sustaining accommodation in the locality; maximising opportunities for residents to belong, contribute and thrive through high quality, psychologically informed support, and housing management services.
You will be accountable for the delivery of high-quality services that meet the contractual requirements of our commissioners and regulatory bodies such as OFSTED and the Regulator of Social Housing are in line with our approach and values and deliver on our operational standards.
We do expect the postholder to be on-site (head office or in projects) at least three days a week. You will appreciate the importance of visibility in a senior role such as this. We allow flexible working, and your hours can be achieved in line with meeting the requirements of the role.
We are looking for someone who is intrinsically passionate about helping to transform the lives of children and young people.
You will have demonstrable experience of strategically leading one or more of housing management / supported housing services, with a track record of achievement, along with a proven experience in safeguarding and child protection in a supported housing environment.
You will already have sound knowledge of the additional risks incurred by children and young people who have multiple, and complex needs due to their experiences and knowledge of trauma informed practice and how to create psychologically informed environments (and/or willingness to learn/develop in this area).
YMCA DLG requires all staff and volunteers to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns. Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure (including the Children's barred list and the Adults' barred list) **via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
