Job Title:
Electronics Assembler


Location:
Plymouth


Salary:
£9.88 per hour plus overtime

Length of contract:
ongoing up to 2 years
To carry out all assembly work using hand tools, small machines, jigs, fixtures, soldering/crimping and production instrumentation.
To ensure adherence to quality and health and safety procedures as laid down by legislation and Company requirements.

  • To abide by relevant health and safety laws ensuring safe practices are adhered to at all times
  • To ensure regular housekeeping is undertaken to maintain area is safe and tidy.
  • To ensure compliance to Company procedures.

General duties may include:

  • Coil winding and sealing
  • Loom preparation wiring, crimping, wirestripping.
  • Assembly and soldering of printed circuit boards
  • Rack and cubicle assembly and wiring.
  • Conformal coating of printed circuit boards
  • Use of encapsulation machine/Slygard.
  • Use of solder bath
  • Painting
  • General Mechanical Assembly of products using torque tools.
  • Cleaning/maintaining area of work
  • Contributing to improvement projects/activities

  • Undertake reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and any other person who may be affected by your activities, as well as the environment within which you operate.
  • Take part in housekeeping duties as directed by the cell leader

PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Your performance will be measured on the basis of:

  • Individual competence
  • Quality of work
  • Nonconformity costs i.e. rework
  • On time delivery
  • HS&E
  • Flexibility and team participation

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Practical "handson" experience within a similar production environment.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings
  • Ability to read simple wiring diagrams and schedules
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Competent to interpret production documentation
  • Able to be flexible / working as a team to achieve targets
