Scotland's first modern hospice, St Columba's Hospice first opened its doors in 1977.

Over the years, it has grown and evolved into an exemplary provider of specialist palliative care for thousands of people with life-limiting illnesses in Edinburgh and the Lothians annually, while also providing support to their relatives and loved ones.

We currently have the following opportunity to join the Hospice team:

Domestic Services Assistant

Part Time - Permanent

Salary:
£24,365 - £25,368 per annum (pro rata) + Unsocial Hours Shift Allowance + Pension + Benefits

Hours:22.5h per week (Back Shift)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly, hard-working team who help to provide a range of cleaning related duties across the hospice in a professional manner and to set procedures and high standards.

Cleaning experience is desirable although full training will be given.

Responsibilities will include general cleaning tasks such as the disposal of refuse, high / low dusting, cleaning sanitary areas, wet mopping and cleaning of patient equipment.

The ability to work on you own initiative and as part of a team is essential as is having good communication skills and the ability to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times regardless of the situation.

Experience with cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting would be an advantage, as would knowledge of COSHH, manual handling and infection control, but this is not essential as full training will be provided.

You must be prepared to work shift patterns which also include weekends.
