We develop, support and integrate some of the Council's most critical systems and we have some exciting opportunities as we look to expand the team.


The Council has ambitious transformation plans as part of its #Vision2024, and mission and priorities, so we are looking for talented people to join our friendly and highly experienced IT Projects Team in taking our exciting journey of transformation forward.


Key responsibilities will include (full training will be provided):

  • Working as part of an Agile Software Development Team on the analysis of user and system requirements and the design, development, testing, bug fixing and implementation of software relating to changes to existing systems or implementation of new systems.
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd Line Support for resolution of incidents or faults raised by users through the Council's IT Service Desk.
  • Working in close collaboration with a wide variety of system users and stakeholders across the Council to advise them on the best use of technologies to support their goals and help them realise efficiencies.
  • Working with colleagues in the Council's IT Infrastructure Team to plan and manage system upgrades and to ensure that the required backend infrastructure components are in place to enable successful project delivery and keep system downtime to an absolute minimum.
  • Undertaking ongoing Research and Development to maintain a good understanding of how emerging technologies will be of benefit to the organisation in future.
