We are an established Main Contractor, based in Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol, undertaking new build, refurbishment, facades and insurance reinstatement work within the industrial, commercial, residential and retail sectors throughout the United Kingdom.
We have been trading for 42 years and have a proven track record in high performance project delivery within the Construction Industry.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Construction Document Controller to join our team.The role will be full time on a permanent contract, within a fast-paced environment and based at either our Glasgow Head Office, or our Manchester office.
Reporting to the Construction Director, your duties will include for the following:-
Duties Include:
- Receive, log, track, and distribute all incoming and outgoing project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, reports, and correspondence. Check for accuracy and edit files as appropriate
- Perform regular audits and quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of project documentation.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies, errors, or missing information in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and contractual requirements.
- Organising our project information on our Sharepoint internal and Public (project wide) sites
- Managing version control of documents on Sharepoint
- Organising the issuing and receipt of design information
- Performing quality checks on received information
- Configuring our field app PlanRadar and setting up new projects on it
- Monitoring content quality on Planradar and implementing control measures as required
- Managing permissions and user control on Sharepoint and Planradar
- Offering support, resolving queries and organising training where required for Sharepoint and Planradar
- Coordinating Trello and/or Sharepoint task management apps
- Liaising with colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of information
- Give support related to the management of design and project information to the Project Managing team
- Maintain thorough and accurate project records
- Assisting with the management of the RFI process
Requirements and skills:
- Have proven work experience as a Document Controller/ Information Manager and/or similar role within the Construction Industry
- Have experience of a quality assured and accredited system of working
- Have familiarity with file sharing and management software such as SharePoint, Dropbox, WeTransfer, PlanRadar, etc
- Be conversant in Microsoft Office Suite
- Have knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
- Have proficient typing and editing skills
- Have excellent data organisation skills
- Display attention to detail

- Be detailoriented and passionate about continuous improvement
