REED is delighted to assist our client in Co. Antrim who wishes to recruit an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor.

This is an excellent opportunity where you will be responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in delivering the site EHS improvementprogram.


Duties will include:

  • Support teams in completing/reviewing risk assessment and other hazard identification with departmental teams
  • Assist teams in completing PUWER assessments
  • Manage COSHH database and maintain the site COSHH register
  • Assist teams in completing/reviewing COSHH assessments
  • Assist in delivery of the site Carbon Net Zero plan and environmental management program
  • Drive EHS continual improvement initiatives with cross functional teams
  • Coordinate, manage and deliver H&S related training, (manual handling training, awareness sessions, risk assessment, environmental awareness
  • Responsible for delivering EHS induction to all employees and agency workers throughout the organisation.
  • Sourcing external courses and tracking completion and maintaining refresher training
  • Accident/incident investigation in conjunction with managers/other personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain incident tracker
  • Record information/statistics on EHS events/incidents
  • Analysis of EHS statistics to assist in the implementation of the site continual improvement programme
  • Maintain EHS Action trackers
  • Provide and review EHS trends
  • Carry out EHS audits and inspections for ISO14001 and ISO4500
  • Support emergency planning and provision of support role to incidents as they arise and emergency situations
  • Research and specify PPE and other H&S equipment
  • Develop EHS work instructions
  • Active participant in H&S and Environmental committees, providing competent advice
  • Evaluate training to monitor effectiveness and act on findings accordingly.
  • Oversee First Aider and Fire Warden provision/cover including equipment supplies within the organisation, ensuring there is adequate provision/cover for the site.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required by your manager from time to time

Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a EHS role, preferably in a pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of all current Health and Safety regulations
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or higher
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive internal relationships.
  • Able to develop and deliver training materials.
  • Able to produce statistical information & undertake analysis and associated reports.
