We are recruiting for a full-time Associate Director Specialist Directorate within our Trust, working 37.5 hours per week.

Our Specialist Directorate is exciting and fast paced it has within it a diverse range of clinical services. These include Substance Misuse, Learning Disability services (both inpatient and community), Neuropsychiatry/Psychology, Child and Adolescent and Health Psychology specialities.

Each of these services are specially commissioned in line with their clinical complexities in order to meet the need of our patient populations.


As a Directorate we have been through a period of consolidation and have now commenced a journey of growth and expansion in some of our key clinical areas.

There is also exciting opportunities within our services to diversify in line with clinical need and emerging clinical evidence.

Strong clinical and operational leadership will be key to the success of the Directorates strategic and operational objectives.

As Associate Director you would hold responsibility for the Directorates continued performance matrix and strive for continual improvements in key performance indicators in line with the wider Trust benchmarking and national standards.

You will be supported within your role by two Clinical Directors and you will lead a Senior Directorate Team including two Senior Service Managers, six Service Managers and a Quality Improvement Lead Nurse.


This role offers the opportunity to be an integral part of the senior operational team within the Trust, with extensive exposure to the Executive Team and Trust Board while supporting continuing professional development.

You will have the opportunity for deputising for the Chief Operating Officer and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer when required.

You will have significant experience as an operational manager with the ability to successfully respond to the changing expectations and needs of the NHS.

To be appointed, you will need to demonstrate mature and compassionate leadership skills, be astute and have excellent interpersonal skills, which ensure you are able to empower and lead teams to deliver high quality patient care.

Previous experience of working within a healthcare or public sector environment is desirable.
