WHAT TO EXPECT
As the Product Owner, you would be technically minded, organised and will be working within an Agile framework in one of our Steering, wheels and tyres (SWAT) squads within Chassis Engineering at JLR.
You will assist with driving the priorities and drumbeat of the Steering wheels and tyres function Group squad, supporting programmes with deliveries spanning from concept approval to launch readiness and mass production.
Working as part of a cross functional On-Cycle Agile Squad, you will report into the relevant Group Leader (LL6) and have an additional matrix report into the Product Owner (D Grade) of the Agile Squad.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Key Accountabilities and
Responsibilities:
- Contribute into purpose, vision, and outcome of the squad.
- Set and drive delivery direction (for the squad) through prioritisation of work.
- Maximise the value of the output that the squad works on by using iterative ways of working to deliver value quicker and minimise risk.
- Ability to challenge the status quo whilst not impacting deliverables.
- Ensure upfront alignment and coordination with other interacting squads or groups.
- Establish/Facilitate/Participate in key agile ceremonies across colocated and virtual teams.
- Rapidly responding to changing customer needs through fast, regular feedback and reprioritisation.
- Support Scrum Master in the development, implementation and adherence of Agile project management processes.
- Confidently and clearly present issues and proposed feasibility solutions, as well as provide status on a regular basis to all stakeholder levels.
- Set, monitor and challenge programme budget throughout the development phase.
- Support the squad in resolving key technical issues.
- Work with the Group Leaders to deliver content into production.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Highly organised, disciplined, flexible and selfmotivated.
- Ability to manage projects across diverse teams and an ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on results/outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Decisive, able to make decisions that set direction of the team independently.
- An individual with a customer first mindset who is easy to do business with, transparent and dependable.
- An effective team player, actively sharing learning and skills with team members.
- Ability to adapt to the demands of high priority work streams in support of engineering delivery priorities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and implement structured problemsolving techniques.
- Able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust.
- Component and or system engineering and delivery experience
