Our nursery setting is looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to support our Chef in the kitchen. The Kitchen Assistant is required to have experience in working within a nursery setting or school kitchen/canteen.

• To be responsible for the day to day cleaning of the kitchen and utensils
• To help the Chef prepare and present a freshly cooked lunchtime meal including desert for the nursery staff to serve children in our care. The chef must provide suitable alternatives to accommodate for children's allergies, particular dietary requirements and those who observe religious beliefs and the kitchen assistant must be familiar with these requirements
• To help the chef prepare and store a light tea for the nursery staff to serve in the afternoon to the children, again follow specific requests made by parents.
• To work with the Chef to plan a wellbalanced, healthy and fresh menu.
• In the absence of the chef to complete food orders within the allocated budget and appropriate timescales for deliveries, ensuring best possible value
• Reporting equipment, maintenance problems to the Chef
• To adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times
• To adhere strictly to the following safety rules

Job Types:

Part-time hours: 20 per week
