J&C Joel supply, manufacture, and install, a range of products into the entertainment and events industry. The core of its business is flame retardant fabrics, and manufacturing high-end technical and decorative drapery.

Over the last 15 years J&C Joel has hugely grown and developed its stage engineering solutions through its Project's department, which installs a wide range of systems, ranging from basic curtain tracks and drapery, through to high performance motorised rigging and stage engineering, with sophisticated automation controls.

ROLE PURPOSE:


The role holder will report to the Electrical Projects Manager; helping to deliver electrical projects both in the UK and overseas on a project-by-project basis.

J&C Joel have sub-contractors and subcontract suppliers who currently assist in the delivery of our electrical requirements, which range from pulling cables, containment and terminations.

There are also requirements to do electrical setups and additions to products in-house before going to site.

J&C Joel projects range in size and complexity. Electrically the packages range from £20,000 through to £450,000 in value.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:


  • Able to work on their own and part of a team.
  • Flexible to working additional hours, working away from home and possibly overseas.
  • Coordained ongoing works with other trades and JCJ Electrical Project Manager.
  • Maintain a strong customer relationship with the client and site management.
  • Work to method statements and risk assessments.
  • Ability to prioritise, problem solve, and fault find.
  • The ability to be selfmotivated.
  • Assisting mechanical engineers on site with their works where required.
  • The role will be mainly on site, along with some workshop works inhouse.
  • Any other ad hoc duties, as requested by the Electrical Project Manager.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Have previous electrical knowledge and training.
  • Proven record of working as an electrician.
  • Experience within stage engineering in theatres would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to converse at all levels.
  • Confident demeanour.
  • Hardworking with a keen eye to detail.
  • Familiar with control panels would be advantageous.
  • Client focused and out of the box thinker.
  • Knowledge of electrical design desirable.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Bias for Action, with a professional and positive approach a can do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile when required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:


  • Qualified Electrician
  • Commercial electrical work experience required.
  • 18th Edition qualified desirable.
  • ECS Gold card recommended.
  • SSSTS preferable training provided.
  • City and Guilds is advantageous.
  • Ipaf and Plasma preferable
- training provided.

  • Mechanical knowledge advantageous.
  • Driving licence.

Salary:
From £30,000.00 per year
