Safer Homes Partnership Officer

£26,845 - £29,439 per annum

Hybrid working contract

37 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to influence and join the new Safer Communities and Homes team at Tamworth Borough Council.


Reporting directly to the Private Sector Housing Officer, the role will support and manage the Council's approach to Empty Homes and action plans arising from the Housing Strategy and will assist in the development of all aspects of private sector housing initiatives, including the Landlords Forum, licencing of Homes in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), preparation of enforcement actions and relevant inspection.


To deliver the role you will need:

  • Experience of working in private sector housing environment or other relevant housing/community safety/environmental experience
  • Experience and evidence of partnership working in a multiagency environment
  • Some knowledge of or ability to undertake marketing and/or promotional activity
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice including underlying concepts and principles or evidence ability to understand requirement
  • Educated to minimum A Level or proven relevant experience or continued professional development
  • Housing Health Related Safety (HHRS) qualification or willing to undertake the qualification
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills


The position will be a challenging new role and an opportunity to ensure the Council develops both internal and external partnership projects and plans to ensure best housing outcomes for the communities of Tamworth.


This is a hybrid working contract, there is a requirement for some of duties to be carried out at home and some on site.

Site attendance will constitute more than 40% of available working time.
