What you will be doing


To train and guide learners' performance and knowledge against relevant standards, including Functional Skills, within apprenticeships to achieve high quality qualifications within the appropriate timescale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aim to achieve an overall rating of Green (including IQA) in observations of teaching, learning and assessment. 100% of the working caseload actively participating in learning on a monthly basis and minimum 80% timely completions against target.
  • Responsible for the training and assessment for upwards of 4050 learners and ensuring that at least 80% of your caseload complete to a high standard on or before planned end date.
  • Using E-Portfolio to ensure that the learners work is up to standard and submitted on time. Ensuring progress is in line with delivery models.
  • To teach Functional Skills English and Maths as part of the apprenticeship to a high standard using engaging and contextualized strategies to ensure first time pass rate. Work with Functional Skills tutor to ensure learners are supported and developed throughout the qualification. To naturally embed Functional Skills as part of the delivery even when completed or exempt.
  • Liaising with the learner and if applicable their line manager to ensure that your training is tailored to the specific needs of the learner and the organisation, ensuring that effective support and skill enhancement is provided for learners.
  • Ensure a quality learner journey to include sign up, inductions, reviews, action planning, observations and assessments, including but not limited to effectively understanding a learners BKSB results to inform their individual learning plan and set SMART targets to support their plan.
  • Keep up to date with specific occupational area and with latest developments in assessment methods.
  • Ensure Learners are fully aware of their progress and where their evidence meets the standards of the qualification and implement specific training needs to assist learners' progression.
  • Contribute to the company quality objectives ensuring all learners achieve in relation to their starting point, have a quality programme and meet Ofsted standards.
  • Ensure all delivery is observed at rating Green or above in relation to Ofsted requirements. Make sure to take responsibility for own learning and understanding of Common Inspection Framework.
  • Maintain assessment standards to A1/TAQA at all times.
  • Liaise with Internal IQA's and ensure that feedback is acted upon in a timely fashion and to continuously improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Actively engage in standardisation meetings, sharing of best practice. On occasion leading workshops, providing 121 mentoring support.
  • Accurately complete learner Health and Safety documentation and report on any issues.
  • Contribute to maintaining delivery, practical and knowledge based skills and identify and record occupational training provided.
  • Increase the portfolio of the company by assisting in the marketing of all areas of the business.
  • Maintain own caseloads at viable levels.
  • The ability to be flexible to the company requirements, this could entail visiting learners outside the normal geographical area, this may occasionally include the requirement of working out of hours and/or involve overnight stays.
  • Contribute and maintain delivery via software packages such as Eportfolio and MS Systems.
  • Responsible for upholding procedures to Safeguarding learners, reporting appropriately and ensuring Prevent Duty and British values are being upheld and promoted.

Essential Qualifications

  • D32 / 33/ CAVA/ TAQA or A1 units
  • Teaching qualification i.e. PGCE, Cert Ed, PTTLS
  • GCSE Grade A-C English and Maths or FS Level
  • IAG Level 2

Essential Experience

  • Occupationally competent in accordance with Awarding Body guideline
  • Experience in teaching and assessing Accountancy and Finance
  • Experience of delivering functional skills integrated into apprenticeship
  • Experience of delivering apprenticeship
  • Awareness of the assessment/testing process
  • Experience of mentoring, coaching, delivering training or supporting personal development to learners
