  • 9:00am to 5:00pm (to include a lunchtime duty)**The Principal and Governors of our Academy are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to join their team.


Monks Coppenhall Academy and nursery is a growing 3 form entry Primary school with an age range of 2-11 which currently has 611 children on role (inclusive of nursery).

The school serves a diverse catchment with the most delightful children. Visitors at the school always comment on the politeness, respectfulness and excellent behaviour of the children.

  • Lead individual/small group sessions and interventions as appropriate;
  • Understand difficulties and barriers that individual children may face, and build trusting relationships to support them to succeed in school;
  • Remain calm in challenging situations;
  • Establish good relationships with children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs;
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of different approaches to manage behaviour;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills;
  • Set high expectations, promote selfesteem and independence;
  • Undertake record keeping as required;
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and implement changes relating to the role;
  • Be responsible for the implementation of behaviour strategies, participating with other team members for example by taking the lead role in the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual behaviour plans;
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to parental and community involvement;
  • Have good sense of humour and a hardworking ethos;
  • Act in accordance with school policies and procedures and relevant legislation particularly in relation to safeguarding, child protection and behaviour management;
  • Implement positive handling strategies in order to safeguard individuals.
