DTI are looking for an experienced Technical Buyer to be responsible for their national supply management and development. Proven purchasing or buying experience gained from a similar engineering/manufacturing environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to;
- MRP order placement
- Audit of suppliers
- Identify and develop new suppliers based on capability, quality, lead time and price
- Expedite orders to ensure compliance with delivery schedules, price and quality
- Investigate NCR issues
- Establish tiered supplier network
Skills & Qualifications
- An indepth knowledge of machined component manufacturing processes (Essential)
- Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing role
- Experience of functioning within an ISO9001 environment
- CIPS Level 5 or equivalent
- Results driven with strong communication and negotiation skills
- Project Management skills
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Supplier costs management and techniques
- High level of attention to detail
- Computer literate
