Job Title:
Marine Fitter


Responsibilities:


  • Perform fitting and assembly of mechanical components such as engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery on marine vessels.
  • Install, align, and adjust mechanical parts and systems to meet specified requirements.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fitting and assembly of mechanical components.
  • Collaborate with marine engineers and other team members to coordinate the installation and integration of mechanical systems with the overall vessel structure.
  • Ensure the quality and precision of fitting and assembly work, adhering to industry standards and specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Marine Fitter, with a strong track record of successful mechanical fitting and assembly on marine vessels.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for fitting and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of various mechanical systems commonly found on marine vessels.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or a related field.
  • Prior experience in marine fitting, preferably in shipbuilding or repair.

Licence/Certification:

  • City & Guilds Automotive (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Southampton, Hampshire (required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Southampton, Hampshire: Relocate before starting work (required)
