The Growth Company (GC) is currently recruiting for a
Designated Safeguarding Lead and Named Person for Child Protection Officer. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work within a department dedicated to making a difference.


The main purpose of this role is to promote the safety and welfare of Adults, Children, and Young people who are involved in GC daily.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop GG's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies and Procedures to make sure they are accurate and reflect national, regional, and local policies.
  • Implement the GC's safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning adults, children, and young people who take part in activities are responded to appropriately.
  • Actively making sure that everyone who is working within and in partnership with GC understands and implements all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Accurately taking/reporting all information brought forward that could constitute to a child protection concern and taking all the correct steps and procedures for investigation (Working closely with local authorities and child protection services).
  • Working alongside Senior Leadership to ensure all cultures of Safeguarding are embedded through the organisation.
  • Work in partnership with the Board and Designated Safeguarding Offices (DSO's).
  • Attend regular safeguarding and child protection training and pass all knowledge learned on to colleagues and departments within the organisation.
  • Confidently report back to the board regularly about any safeguarding issues, ensuring that child protection is seen as an ongoing priority, and make sure that all policies and procedures are followed to the highest level.

About You:


  • Confident with very strong communication skills in all areas.
  • Great interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of safeguarding legislations and policies.
  • You must be resilient and have great IT Skills including the safeguarding/child protection systems.

Skills Required:


  • University degree or equivalent qualification (e.g.
  • Education, Child Care, Social Work, Psychology, etc) or extensive work experience in a safeguarding role.
  • A Level 3 DSL Safeguarding qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience leading safeguarding in post16 education settings.
  • Evidence of Multiagency child safeguarding practices, understanding of current and relevant safeguarding legislations, regulations, guidance, and best practices.
  • Experience completing Ofsted Inspections and writing safeguarding strategies/policies.
  • Experience working with care experience learners and learners with SEND/Additional learning support needs.

It is expected that this role will work with young people therefore the post holder has responsibilities to safeguard our client group.
