As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a Sales Estimator to work within our Bridgwater office. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this key role would form part of the sales team.

The main responsibility of the role would be to generate the maximum number of profitable sales through the achievement of sales targets.

Taking customer leads/enquires, producing and presenting proposals following through to order placement. This could be with existing customers but there will be the expectation to grow the customer base.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Generate proposals to achieve maximum profitability against annual targets.
  • Using a mix of good forward planning and flexibility, maintain regular contact with Customers to ensure that they are provided with all necessary support.
  • Identify and exploit new opportunities with existing and potential Customers by providing relevant information on all company products and services.
  • Follow up and close proposals/offers to Customers.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication links with other Company departments to identify all opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain key contacts to ensure the maintenance of good longterm relationships and to maximise sales of company services.
  • Initially the requirements will be office based but willingness to grow knowledge base and engage with customers on site, which may mean staying away from home, will be a requirement on some occasions.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:


The Job Requires:

  • Qualification to City and Guilds level or equivalent in an engineering discipline OR Qualified by Experience.
  • At least 25 years proven proposal/sales experience including facetoface meetings and appointment setting.
  • At least 25 years working within or supplying engineering services to industry preferably with a bias to Machining and/or Fabrication.
  • The ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of engineering principles with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to read and interrupt engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Commercially astute with excellent business acumen.
  • Great time management skills. Ability to prioritise own workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to complete work within set deadlines.
  • IT literate with willingness to be trained on specific software packages.
  • Ability to absorb any training needs to improve skill capability.

Pay:
£38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
