IT Switchboard and Customer Support Assistant:
Job description

  • This role is designed to contribute towards two distinct areas of Service Delivery (within IT services):
  • The delivery of a professional, effective and efficient reception and switchboard service through supporting the University's user community (comprising of students, staff and guests), handling
telephone and face-to-face enquiries.- To provide support for an effective and efficient IT Customer Support service to the University's user community (comprising of students, staff and guests), handling face-to-face and electronic


enquiries- The role holder will need to hold a conversation in Welsh with the public, staff and students and assist with telephone enquiries.


  • The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh on a workrelated matter and the ability to write original Welsh material with confidence is essential for this post.


The primary location for this role is USW Treforest Campus based in Pontypridd but may involve working from another campus on occasion.

This is a full-time, permanent post (37 working hours per week).
