Overview:
As a Senior Operations Officer/Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the Credit Union.
You will be responsible for managing operational procedures, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic business decisions through detailed analysis and forecasting.
This role requires a combination of operational oversight and detailed financial management, including bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting.You will be accountable to the Manager for the management of loans to members offered to the Credit Union online services to the Credit Union.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records. Perform duties including bookkeeping, invoicing, and processing expenses.
- Ensure efficient operational procedures are in place and are followed. This may include managing inventory, overseeing procurement, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Provide support during financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy and consistency in team member's work.
- To ensure that all loans outside of the loan officer's remit but inside of the credit union manager's mandate, are placed before the manager for consideration with accompanying documents i.e. 3 months bank statements and detailed Why form.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Level 4 or above Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or 3 years' experience in similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in accounting/financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of local financial regulations and reporting requirement
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to manage stress and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
