Description

There is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Bereavement Midwife to join Bereavement Midwifery Team as part of a Job share for 15hours per week at St Mary's Oxford Road, Manchester Foundation Trust.

This is a team that has been developed over 10 years and has been recognized nationally as a gold standard of bereavement practice.

This position is ideal for an experienced and confident midwife who is looking to develop specialist skills and knowledge within bereavement care, with a passion for individualised compassionate care wishing to support families through the death of their baby.

Experience in high-risk care may be useful, but not essential.

Due to workload and clinic schedules, there are times when the team manages its own diary, providing a degree of flexibility to meet service users' needs, therefore you need to have the ability to priorities and organize your schedule while working alongside and feeding back to other members of the team.

Some knowledge and experience of delivering bereavement care would be good for this role but is not essential as training within the role will be supported by the bereavement team leaders and the matron.

This support will be designed around your development needs, to ensure confident midwifery and bereavement care practice.

The post holder will provide bespoke Specialist bereavement care to women and their families during pregnancy loss, and in a subsequent pregnancy, within the Managed Clinical Service.

The post holder will have a fundamental role in supporting the Bereavement matron, team leader and will be working closely with the bereavement teams across the managed clinical service in the delivery of high standards of bereavement and midwifery care, ensuring an environment that is conducive to wellbeing.

The post holder will develop specialist skills and knowledge to support the organization and the delivery of care for patients within the directorate.
