Contract & hours: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Full time - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week + standby & callout required when necessary


Kier Places are recruiting now for a
Mobile Multi Skilled Technician - Working Supervisor to join our Facilities Management Projects team on our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) contract.

To ensure a consistent repairs & maintenance service delivery on Commercial sites including general repairs, fire safety & technical services solution to our client.

Ensuring quality, safety and timely completions of all jobs, including management of onsite engineers and subcontractors.

This role will be key to maximising the productivity of the self-delivery offering and enhancing the growth of the business.


Key Responsibilities


As a Mobile Multi Skilled Technician - Working Supervisor with Kier FM, you will be responsible for carrying out & ensuring the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, reactive callouts and minor projects on building services & plant equipment and assets, on a number of sites across the Midlands and North West, as well as ensuring timely delivery of Fire Safety remedial works stemming from recent Fire Risk Assessments in a range of different building types and occupations.

We'll trust you to work closely with the Operations, Contract & Administration team to plan workload & resources in line with clients demands, whilst maximising productivity and profitability; survey, cost & document additional/remedial works; and get involved physically to assist with the completion of jobs where required.


With a collaborative focus, you'll demonstrate an understanding & commitment to customer care; maintain relationships with the client, colleagues, the public, subcontractors, and other stakeholders; provide technical support as necessary; undertake effective resource & performance management of engineers & sub-contractors to ensure the customer's requirements, contractual obligations and productivity are achieved; and foster a performance management & development approach.


Just as importantly, we'll trust you to ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times by all employees and sub-contractors; and review, inspect & audit documentation, maintenance records, processes & works carried out to ensure a compliant, accurate, cost-effective service delivery of the highest standard.


Due to the nature of this role & contract, you'll need to participate within an out of normal working hours emergency call out rota, as well as be flexible outside of core working hours.


What do we need from you?


To be a Mobile Multi Skilled Technician with Kier FM, you'll have extensive experience within a mobile maintenance role, consisting of planned maintenance & reactive repairs in the Building Services industry, preferably including both residential & commercial properties; knowledge of current fire safety legislation; relevant engineering & industry qualifications; experience of direct supervising of engineers & subcontractors, including excellent people management skills; and the ability to lead, guide, and motivate others towards achievement.


You should also have experience of organising & planning works, materials and plant; project supervision experience with the ability to price associated small works; ability to manage multiple jobs across a wide geographical range, with various sub-contractors whilst working remotely; a good understanding of Customer Service Levels (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); you'll be commercially aware with excellent planning & work sequencing skills; and have the ability to work to own initiative, to a high level of accuracy, and to meet deadlines.

Due to the nature of this role, you must have a full driving licence. Desirable qualifications include a valid CSCS Card, Working at Height/IPAF/PASMA certification, and IOSH Certificate.
