This is an editorial role for an experienced editor with expertise in live and developing news within the Arab region.

The Post-holder will be part of a team of journalists, editors, reporters and assistant editors and will work to a Rota pattern, but beable to move flexibly on rotation or for holiday/sick cover.

They will join the editorial team, to contribute on projects including production initiatives and innovations leading to more engaging content for our audiences.

The Post-holder will have to take a reported view on complex topics, and have the ability to work under tight deadlines and on a wide range of topics.

They will be expected to buildsources at the very highest levels andwould be expected to plan coverage of the region'sand the world'smost importantsportstopics and work with reporters across the globe.

• To contribute to the overall shape and editorial strength of alAraby alJadeed as a member of the editorial team.
• Meet with the editorial team including the Sports Editor and Reporters to discuss assignments, due dates and publishing schuedules
• To write articlesin English and Arabicrelated to sports stories, following the editorial values of alAraby alJadeed and ensure that the quality standards are met in each article.
• To work with the Senior Editor to ensure powerful coverage of breaking and developingsportsnews, live events and big stories; combining ambitious reporting, context and analysis and a depth of coverage that makes full use of our resources in the regionand access to decision makers and key figures in the region.
• To promote an open, collaborative and creative culture whichencourages and inspires innovative and distinctive output.
• To contribute to and manage the development of Alaraby Aljadeed'ssportsproduction and presentation, generating ideas for how stories can best be told online.
• To flag risks to the publishing schedule, whilst proposing solutions to mitigate that risk, tothe Editor in Chief, Managing Editor Senior Editor or Associate Editors.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualificationsin media studies
• Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
• Have a broad knowledge of sports
• Limited experience as a sports journalist, with expertise in breaking and developing news, appropriate production skills and proven editorial judgement.
• Good understanding the different ways audiences are consuming news.
• Must be able to demonstrate sense of visual awareness as well astechnical aptitude.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and editorial policy issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative approach to team working across different teams
• Ability to adapt to working practices in response to changing business demands.

• Experience in working for local and regional Arab media outlets
• A big Network of contacts in their designated industry.
• NCTJ or equivalent qualification.
