We are looking for a Buying and Production Planning Assistant for optimal scheduling of Coopers internal works orders, having taken customer need, material availability & the labour capacity within the workcell into account.


You will purchase goods and services to ensure the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the timely scheduling of production allocations onto the Master Production Schedule tool & any ongoing maintenance on the MPS as the project proceeds. Liasing with Export and UK project teams updating delivery dates.
  • Responsible for ensuring that purchase orders are accurately raised with appropriate price, delivery date & other coding required by the business.
  • Responsible for the daytoday purchasing & timely supply of externally supplied material using various systems such as; ordertoallocation, Kanban, vendor managed inventory, scheduled orders and spot orders.
  • Where required liase with suppliers to ensure ontime delivery and with appropriate quality, any late supplier deliveries to be monitored and expedited.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Other general tasks to support purchasing Team improvement actions and to support other departments as necessary.
  • The communication of any supply chain related issues & opportunities to management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experienced in scheduling on production floors & balancing varying priorities
  • Knowledge of best practice in Purchasing & Supplier management processes
  • Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues & suppliers
  • Good level of IT/ERP skill (Intermediate Excel, Sage50)
