QHSE Manager
Are you a Quality Manager or Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager looking for a new challenge within a growing manufacturing organisation?
We have a fantastic opportunity available due to internal promotion and an ongoing acquisition for a
QHSE Manager to join a well-established manufacturing and distribution business, based in
Stoke on Trent.
As the QHSE Manager in this unique and varied role, you will support the continued growth of the business by providing clear ownership and direction to the development and maintenance of the management systems.
Reporting directly into the CEO, you will bring senior management capabilities alongside a hands-on approach to the business where you will provide support and mentorship to your direct reports and individuals based across all sites.
Main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, and the requirements of the quality management system.
- Maintenance of the ISO9001/EN9100 QMS and development of QMS to meet business and customer requirements.
- Scope of Quality activities include:
- Control of material purchase specifications
- Technical review of orders and customer specifications
- Thirdparty supplier approvals and audits to achieve zerodefect delivery
- Manage equipment calibration and requirements
- Development and control of inhouse inspection activities
- Progress NCR resolution and business improvements including Lean and Six Sigma
- Act as the competent Person for all Health, Safety and Environmental matters for the business, advising management, identifying, and responding to current legal, and best practice requirements.
- Scope of HS&E activities includes, but is not limited to:
- Driving a positive safety culture by working proactively across the business to establish ongoing improvements in the management of health, safety, and wellbeing
- Performing risk assessments (inc. COSHH) and development of safe operating methods
- Lead investigations of occurrences, hazards etc. and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and evidenced
- Undertake regular facility inspection and audits to ensure compliance with procedures
Experience Required
- Proven record in a Health, Safety and Environmental role
- Effective time management, prioritisation, and planning abilities
- Ability to travel, within the UK and occasionally overseas
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Qualified
- Trained ISO Internal Auditor
- IOSH/IEMA Environmental Certificate
- Desirable
- Lean/Six Sigma Qualifications
- Desirable
