Description
We are looking for a keen, motivated Orthoptist to join our department.

Duties include general Orthoptic clinics, pre-school vision screening and VAROC (Vision and Reading Orthoptic Clinics) in Mountainhall Treatment Centre.

The Department covers the whole of Dumfries and Galloway and the postholder may be required to travel to peripheral clinics.

The post holder will be based in Dumfries, South West Scotland.

The Dumfries and Galloway region extends over 2500 square miles of beautiful rural countryside, with Dumfries being the largest town.

It is conveniently situated for travel both north and south, and it is within easy reach of train and air travel.

You will be joining a team of three Orthoptists, and an Orthoptic Assistant, working alongside five Consultant Ophthalmologists.


Peripheral clinics are held in various locations throughout the region and so it is desirable that you hold a valid driving licence.

Final year orthoptic students are encouraged to apply. New graduates may apply.
