Job Description:

Door Person at Sofitel London St James


Under the general guidance and supervision of the Head Concierge and within the established Sofitel St James London policies and procedures, responsible for activities such as, but not limited to, greeting guests at the entrance door, opening and closing the car doors and assisting with luggage handling.


Main Duties:

  • Assists guests in loading and unloading of cars.
  • Tags luggage on arrival and gives guests the tag to pass to reception.
  • Identifies guest name from luggage tags already attached and introduces guests to front desk.
  • Obtains taxis for guests as required.
  • Maintains all accesses through hotel drive way clear of cars.
  • Handles valet car parking for guests.
  • Ensures that the main entrance and surrounding area is clean at all times.
  • Assists Luggage Porters in all their duties
  • Attends to guest queries and needs.
  • Refers complaints to direct supervisor.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Administration

  • Follow the logging procedures for valet parking and parcels, luggage etc.
Financial and Revenue Responsibilities

  • Assist the Concierge in ensuring that guests are charged for valet parking and that the moneys are kept safe as per department standards.
  • Promote the hotel outlets and facilities first and foremost at all times.
Required behaviours

  • Be exemplary in behaviour and etiquette befitting someone who is the first and last person that our guests see.
  • Acknowledge and greet all guests even if you cannot assist them immediately.
Training and Talent & Culture Management

  • Attend all trainings scheduled.
Guest Service Responsibilities

  • Lease with guest relations/management regarding guest information obtained, preferences, feedback etc.
  • Provide a cousu main service to guests and record any particular cousu main moments on the computer forum.

Qualifications:

You must hold a valid driving Licence

Focus on customer service

Effective verbal English communication. Foreign languages are an advantage

Able to work irregular hours and shifts, including weekends and public holidays

A friendly and cheerful disposition, and patient
