The Cash and Payments Associate will be responsible for ensuring that all payments of 3rd party supplier and subcontractor invoices and employee expenses are paid in accordance with SLA, payment terms and Prompt Payment Code.
They will process payments for all business units as per the defined payment schedule, manage exceptional payment requests and ensure full allocation of all items at the point of payment.
They will be responsible for the investigation and resolution of any unallocated items, driving down aged items, reducing risk and providing root cause analysis to support best practice going forwards.
Key Responsibilities_**_
- Drive knowledge sharing/collaboration via Team huddles
- Identify training requirements and development needs of the team
- Preparation of the monthly KPI's and demonstrate understanding of trends in the data to key stakeholders
- Drive timely resolution with root cause to deliver to Prompt payment code (PPC) and Payment to Terms (PTT)
- Respond to business PTP escalations daily using the ISS query portal (Jira)
- Work with team lead to deliver continuous improvement and support initiatives to maintain the integrity of the systems
- Participation of Senior Group meetings and attendance at Finance Community meetings
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Review and Maintain SOP's and version controls are up to date with changes
- Take ownership of own development as a leader
Professional and personal competencies/qualifications_**_
- Good general secondary education or equivalent
- Supplier Payments/Cash Allocation/Accounts Payable experience is essential
- Experience of BACS/CHAPS/Banking systems essential
- Excellent knowledge across Procure to Pay processes
- Experience in a similar role within a multisite business is desirable
- Prior experience of working with an outsourced Finance Shared Service Centre is preferable but not mandatory
- A selfstarter with a strong ethos in Customer focussed outcomes
- Forward thinking, with a 'can do' attitude
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to tight deadlines
