General Summary


We are currently recruiting a forward-thinking individual to assist in the development and running of the Royalties function within a fast-growing publishing industry leader.


This newly formed position is a great opportunity for someone looking for their next step within a busy Royalties department.

As a Royalties Executive, you will work closely with several departments across the business to ensure accurate royalty reporting. The Royalties team consists of 3 members, who have responsibility for royalties on over £90m turnover


Essential job functions/responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Royalties with the quarterly, semiannual and annual royalty statements being produced and checked in line with deadlines
  • Check and approve contracts and amendments in Biblio (author/contributor contracts, royalty rates, reversions, deceased parties), on a daily basis
  • Reconcile Third-Party rights income batches, on a weekly basis
  • Supporting timely payment of author advances and processing these within Biblio
  • Create, analyse and work from reports to ensure accurate royalty calculations
  • Liaise with clients and agents regarding subrights payments and statement queries
  • Become a key team member in a constantly changing industry, communicating with teams across multiple imprints and offices
  • Assist on projects to help improve and grow the business
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications and experience

  • Knowledge of the publishing industry and understanding of royalty contract terms
  • Experience within a royaltiesfocused position and working with Biblio (essential)
  • Forwardthinking and focused on continual improvement
  • Friendly, approachable and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong numerical skills and competent in Excel
  • Must be comfortable taking phone calls and be able to build positive ongoing relationships with our valued authors, agents and clients
  • Understanding complex royalty structures such as joint ventures
