What will you be doing?

  • Provision of daily GIS support to multiple global projects
  • Coordinating, planning and implementing GIS Technology associated with map production, geographical data management and distribution of spatial information accordingly to the Subsea7 Group/Enterprise R&D program
  • Deploying Webbased GIS solutions for easy data access to nonspecialist, project stakeholders, remote locations, and clients
  • Responsible for gathering and distributing knowledge, advice and guidance to the organisation in relation to GIS
  • Support Company projects and activities with customized 2D and 3D visual geospatial and engineering representations of relevant data and information
  • Design and develop data models and templates
  • Writing procedures for GIS usage and implementation
  • Integrated GIS with other technologies
  • Maintain Geospatial data
  • Contribute to establishing and updating standards and routines/procedures in the specialist discipline
  • Ensures all work is performed according to schedule
  • The ability to understand the technical requirements and propose technical solutions to meet requirements
  • Contribute with the definition and future implementation of the GIS Roadmap and Data Solutions programme as required
  • Some occasional travel to other Subsea7 locations
What experience would we like you to have?

  • Qualifications in science, geography, mathematics (desirable)
  • Masters in GIS (desirable)
  • Good computer skills and understanding of data formats
  • Proficient in use of Office 36
  • Good knowledge of geodesy and spatial reference systems
  • Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation is desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Suite is essential
  • Experience of ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Ability in scripting languages, such as Python is desirable
  • Knowledge of JavaScript is desirable
  • Coordination, organisation, and liaison skills
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Creative thinking recognising, exploring, and using a broad range of ideas and practices
  • Identify technological trends and patterns that could be applied in the organisation
  • Interpersonal, organizational, communication and cooperation skills
  • Focus on quality control of data and deliverables
  • The ability to effectively present data visually
  • Understanding and experience in agile project methodology
  • Understanding and experience in problem solving relating to IT Systems/Software and Project Management would be a distinct advantage
  • Communication and listening skills essential
  • Experience in the ArcGIS Suite, including a good understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise, its architecture, deployment, and maintenance
  • Experience with spatial data management
  • Modelling and analysis skills of Geographical Data
  • Exposure and experience with industry standard enterprise databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle)
  • Exposure and experience of industry standard data models (e.g. PODS, SSDM, APDM)
