An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Operator to join a highly reputable paint and coating manufacturing company.

The role will be working as a Production Operator in the Filling and Packing department. The company offers industry-leadinginnovation and differentiated distribution to a growing base of professional, industrial, commercial and consumer customers.

  • Working in a factory environment as part of a team, on a production line that manufactures paint and wood protection products under the Ronseal and Valspar brand names. At all times work safely, to promote the production of the quality products that ourcustomers require.
  • Operate packaging machinery of several types at varying stages of the production line
  • Sort and weigh products after packaging to ensure requirements are met and that no mistakes have been made
  • Complete administrative tasks at the beginning, during and end of a shift, e.g. records for quality assurance purposes, carefully ensuring all information is entered correctly and clearly
  • Report malfunctions or errors to supervising staff immediately, relaying key information
  • Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks and cooperate with engineering colleagues, to ensure your machine remains functional, safe and efficient to operate
  • Support colleague machine operators to ensure that no one becomes fatigued or distracted.

Position requirements

  • Two years' experience of manufacturing or machine operations preferred, or the aptitude and desire to learn and work well in this environment
  • Meets defined standards of reading, writing and speaking using the English language
  • Able to work shifts including nights and, at peak times, weekends
  • After training, able to work effectively within a small team, on own initiative without close supervision on a selfmanaging basis
  • Methodical, disciplined, keen attention to detail, easily able to follow standard procedures

Additional Information
Low Season - Monday-Friday 6AM - 2PM / 2PM - 10PM / 10PM - 6AM
High Season - Monday-Sunday 4-days on / 4 days off, 6AM - 6PM, 6PM - 6AM

Salary £27,213.12 Per annum + Night-shift premium 25%, Weekend shift premium 35%
