Job Title:
Store Maintenance & Security Officer Person
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Store Maintenance & Security Officer Person to join our Salisbury department store team.
This job has two aspects:
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain the appearance of the store, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restroom maintenance.
- Inspect store facilities regularly to identify and address any maintenance issues, such as lighting outages, HVAC malfunctions, or safety hazards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from store management or staff and prioritise tasks based on urgency.
- Perform minor repairs and general tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, or patching walls.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of store displays, promotional events, or seasonal decorations.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for everyone in the store.
- Collaborate with external contractors or vendors for specialised repairs or maintenance projects as necessary.
- Have a basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work.
- We ideally would like this Maintenance person to also be a suitably qualified Retail Security Officer to work within our Salisbury Department Store.
Duties will include:
Maintaining a high level of vigilance whilst observing the store in a discreet manner.
Actively patrolling the store to ensure the safety of all customers and staff.
Providing a welcoming environment to all customers and staff.
Escorting unwelcome customers from the store.
Looking out for security abnormalities around the store.
Reporting any observations or actions to store management and documenting appropriately.
Protection of the store from theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
Responding promptly to any security issues that arise.
Handling difficult customers in a calm and professional manner.
Engaging with external authorities as required.
Maintaining accurate records of incidents and provide detailed reports to management.
About You:
Suitably trained with appropriate SIA Door Supervisor or Security Officer Licence.
Experience in the security industry.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Confident in written reporting.
Confident in dealing with external authorities.
Proactive approach to work.
Smart appearance and personal presentation, reflecting well on the Company.
Highly motivated.
Mature approach in dealing with challenging situations.'''Duties'''

- Conduct surveillance using CCTV cameras and other security equipment
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
- Investigate and report any suspicious behavior or incidents
- Respond to alarms and emergencies promptly
- Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors as needed
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Complete accurate and detailed reports on security incidents
- Strong surveillance skills to effectively monitor premises
- Proficiency in operating CCTV cameras and other security equipment
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to prevent theft or damage to property
- First aid training to provide immediate medical assistance if required
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, employees, and visitors
- Ability to remain calm and composed in highstress situations
- Attention to detail to identify potential security risks or breaches
Pay:
Up to £11.50 per hour
Expected hours: 38.75 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- security: 1 year (preferred)
Language:
- English (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
