Purpose of Job


As a valued leader of our Pharmacy team, you will ensure that our customers and patients get the best possible service every time they visit our pharmacy.


As a leader of our Pharmacy Hybrid Operations, your main responsibility will be to lead the day to day running of the Pharmacy entity to maintain excellent service to customers and patients.

You will be responsible for implementation of the business strategy


Job Purpose & Duties

  • Ensure the safe and effective running of the Pharmacy operation making sure that all Pharmacy staff understands their roles and responsibilities
  • Proactively develop Pharmacy Sales and Services
  • Adhere to legal, ethical and company requirements/systems
  • Manage the Pharmacy Team and manage individual staff competence
  • Regularly audit staff, services, systems, records and standards
  • Tailor conversations with every customer to ensure they leave your pharmacy feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs
  • Leading, motivating and developing your colleagues

Communication
Pharmacy staff should recognize the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to:

  • Communicate effectively with other team members
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers
  • Recognize people's needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly

Work Setting and Review

  • Ability to prioritise duties to ensure patients' needs are met

Individual Responsibilities

  • Attendance and completion of mandatory training as directed by the Pharmacy.
  • Adhere to Pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.

They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately.


In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, Pharmacy staff and other healthcare workers.

They may also have access to information relating to the Pharmacy as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential.

Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Pharmacy may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Pharmacy policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data


Health & Safety

  • Pharmacy staff will comply with all policies in relation to Health and safety and ensure they complete any mandatory training as advised by the Pharmacy Manager
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of health and safety and infection control statutory and best Pharmacy guidelines and ensure implementation across the business
  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Pharmacy guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across the business, conduct risk assessments as required

Information Governance


If you are required to make entries into health records, you must ensure these entries are legible and attributable, and that record keeping is contemporaneous.

Qualifications - Desirable

  • Pharmacy Qualifications or related area
  • Understanding of Pharmacy and Health Sector
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment
  • Experience of leading and managing operations
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement for processes and procedures
