Description and requirements:
We are looking for an on-site Premises Assistant (Caretaker) to join our facilities management team based in a School in Basildon.
You'll:
- Contribute to the smooth running of the School by carrying out a range of duties including security and supervision of the sites and related equipment. To complete planned and reactive maintenance and other duties including porterage and cleaning.
- Support school and comply with school based procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or major damage, Ensuring that all areas within the confines of the site are free from litter and that all drains and gullies are free flowing and clean.
- Take delivery of stores, materials and other goods and conveying them to their points of distribution
- Prepare the school premises and site for assemblies, meetings and out of school activities and clearing up after these activities.
- Be responsible for routine and nonroutine opening of premises and grounds. Respond to calls outside normal working hours as a result of breakins etc. and/or the setting off of the burglar alarm(s).
- Ensure safe access and egress on school grounds during periods of inclement weather.
- Be available for ongoing evening/weekend lettings and have the flexibility to cover occasional lettings which may arise
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post and grade as may be determined by the Premises Manager
We're looking for:
- Good knowledge of H&S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHH
- Basic computer skills
- Experience of building maintenance and systems is desirable but not essential
- Experience of working on HVAC equipment is desirable but not essential
