As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you will be taking an active and visible role within the HSE team via site attendance, site safety meetings and other opportunities as and when they arise, promoting the Health and Safety culture at all locations, conducting Audits and provide advice on HSE related matters to staff, and other stakeholders, when required or when you see fit.


Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure that accidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner. Providing support to the HSE Manager in any enquiry involving authorities (e.g. HSE) should this be an outcome of an accident or incident.
  • To conduct HSE Inspection Audits in accordance with the Schedule and to provide support where required to achieve a timely resolution of any findings.
  • To promote the company Near Miss programme at all WJ locations ensuring our staff use the programme and understand its reason for existence.
  • To conduct regular audits of WJ tools & equipment, and hired equipment, to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and suitability for the tasks intended.

- £33,000 per annum

  • 22 days annual leave, rising to 25 by 1 per year.

WIN

What We Expect of You

  • Proven experience within Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Certification
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Basic IT Skills in Word & Excel
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Regular travel to our sites across the UK is expected.

Desirable

  • Membership of IOSH
  • Recognised Environmental qualification.
  • First Aid at Work certificate
  • Knowledge of working as an Airport Services provider or
  • Knowledge of supporting people with additional needs / moving and handling of persons
