Job Description:

AECOM is looking for a Bid Manager to join their B&P Pursuits Team.

This role will be focusing on bids over $ 250K and will participate in the delivery of the FY23 sector strategy and associated GSR bookings target.


The Bid Manager will be involved in the Buildings & Places UK&I Pursuits Team supporting a culture of bidding best practice to improve our win rate.

Focusing on priority bids of over +$250k, whilst also taking responsibility for those bids over $100K (as outline in the bidding process).

Taking an active bid management role, including client pre-positioning (roadmap, four rules, client listening etc), clearly demonstrating consistence adherence to the documented B+P UK&I Pursuits Team process; including robust go/no-go's, bid codes raised promptly, meeting kick-offs, storyboarding sessions, pink/red/gold reviews, tender boards, governance process, presentation materials, rehearsals and lessons learned and debriefs.


Responsibilities:


  • Support sector/discipline/regional pipeline cleansing as required the management of their sector pipelines to ensure opportunities are recorded, pursued and maximised to support fee conversion.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement cycle across the B&P UKI pursuits team resulting in improved bidding and the overall win rate of the team exceeding 50%.
  • Obtain detailed information on the reason for win/loss, who we were in competition, who was successful and % fee difference where lost due to fee on all bids managed and feedback to BP UK&I market sector bid manager.
  • Participate in supporting monthly BP UK&I pursuits team meetings.
  • Demonstrate collaborative engagement with MPT and marcomms to meet or exceed our bookings targets and raise AECOM's profile and brand within the marketplace.
  • Embrace the BP UK&I Pursuits team training programme to address individual needs.
  • Participate in campaign management working alongside the marketing team to support strategic/must win bids.
  • Participate in new initiatives to drive bidding effectiveness.

Qualifications:


  • Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • APMP Foundation level.
  • Previous similar experience working on bid projects over $250k.
  • Preferaby 3-5 yrs experience in a similar environment.
  • Proficient InDesign skills.
  • Understanding the bidding process and have effective bid management and writing skills.
  • Excellent communicator, confident and adaptable.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Thrives in a busy environment.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to motivate a team (previous line management experience desirable).
