What we are looking for
We are looking for a part-time
Admin and Technical Support Officer to join our team in
Environmental Protection.


The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.


About the role


You will also be called upon to provide initial advice to businesses, to the public and signpost people to information and self-service.

You will need to be able to undertake occasional travel for work purposes. This may involve meetings or supporting the team with on site investigations and administrative support.


About you


You will be expected to have an understanding of the wide range of services provided by the Public Protection service as well as a working understanding of the services provided by other parts of the Councils.


You will need to demonstrate:

  • Administration skills including a knowledge of Assure and M3 software (preferred but not essential) Experience using case management systems is essential.
  • Working knowledge of our services for example, noise nuisance, sampling and business inspections is preferred plus some technical skills or ability to undertake a range of tasks.
  • Application of procedures and techniques specific to the service areas.
  • Communication skills, particularly an ability to deal with the public and commercial businesses, often in sensitive and difficult situations.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret reports and information and develop solutions to problems or issues raised by IT users.
  • Ability to interpret data and identify anomalies.
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Experience of a regulatory environment is desirable, and you should be able to prioritise effectively, work with competing demands and switch rapidly between varied administrative tasks.
  • Previous experience working in a customer orientated service.
