An exciting opportunity to join a key part of the overall metering operational team as a Metering Operations Unit Leader, supporting the targets required to succeed as a function.
What will you be doing?
As a Metering Operations Unit Leader, you will assist in meter stop tap installations for the metering department to include repairs, maintenance, stop tap installations/replacements and meter installations for customer properties where excavation work is required, always ensuring legislative compliance, quality and safety standards are adhered to.
Day to day you'll be
- Assist in all metering excavation work as directed.
- Assist in the excavation work to locate supply, installation of stop taps, backfill and reinstatement and meter installations.
- To carry out work at a customer's property ensuring Bristol Water values are always maintained to ensure the customer experience is to an exacting standard.
- To ensure all work is carried out to specification and defect free.
- Be punctual and available for work at the agreed times, including out of hours and weekends when required.
- Fully responsible for ensuring the correct usage of PPE.
- Assist as required in the deployment of emergency drinking water supplies in a major incident effecting the company.
- Responsible for all plant and equipment ensuring all defective equipment is highlighted to the Supervisor/Manger.
- Ensure vehicle stock is maintained and vehicle and trailer are always kept in an acceptable condition.
- Ensure you comply with Bristol Water procedures, working instructions and Health and Safety policy.
- Flexible to carry out any reasonable duty requested of you.
What we're looking for...
- Full UK driving licence Cat B+E minimum as you will be towing trailers
- Construction industry experience
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Cat & Genny trained
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Street works units 19
Ideally, you'll also have
- Utility experience in excavation, backfill and reinstatement.
- Utility experience in the water industry/ Specifically in the installation of stop taps
- Full UK driving licence Cat C1(7.5 Tonne)
