Interim Income & Dispute Resolution Officer - Housing

£20.06 per hour PAYE


This opening assignment is for 5 months The purpose of the role is to provide a timely and comprehensive resolution service to resolve customer enquiries, complaints and disputes, adopting a sensitive but proactive approach to resolve issues relating to; estimated, day-to-day and major works charge; invoices; income accounts; and rent and reserve fund demands to shared owners. The purpose of the role is to positively contribute to the Leasehold Services Team responsible for the effective recovery of service charges and other invoiced sums, including; significant works; shared ownership and ground rent; reserve fund, and any other specified debt from leaseholders, freeholders and shared owners.

Qualifications:


  • GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English.
  • Degree, NVQ, Diploma or relevant experience.

Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Experience in successfully dealing with complex customer, member and Mayor enquiries.
  • Experience in monitoring and achieving targets and working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in using excellent customer services practices to resolve disputes efficiently and complex cases.
  • Knowledge of RTB, housing and service charges legislation and the legal processes which govern the resolution of disputes.
  • Experience in managing income accounts and debt recovery within a Housing environment.
  • Ability to perform accurate arithmetical calculations to advise on balances and repayment agreements and prepare financial statements.
  • Highquality oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people of different levels of seniority.
  • Ability to implement and follow recovery procedures for recovering service charges, major works, ground rent, reserve fund, shared ownership rent income or similar.
  • Excellent customer services skills, with an ability and resilience to resolve disputes in a sensitive manner.
  • Able to work on my initiative, be flexible and be a supportive team member.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to head off and resolve customer disputes.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours occasionally, including during some weekends and evenings.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
