Position Title:
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Learning Support Assistant

Location:
Slough, Berkshire

School:
Secondary School

Salary:
£450-£500 per week

Job Type:
Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Start Date:
ASAP 2024

Key Qualifications and Experience:

ESOL/TEFL qualification required.
Preferable experience in a high school setting
Ability to teach basic English to small groups of EAL students.
Experience in conducting interventions with students from various year groups.
Capable of supporting students in their regular classrooms and overseeing assessments for new arrivals

This is a temporary position from ASAP until the remainder of the academic year July 2024.

Responsibilities:

Track the impact of EAL programs on students with limited English proficiency.
Monitor the progress of EAL students.
Evaluate identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities.
Provide detailed and regular feedback on students' achievement, progress, and needs.
Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
Attend to students' personal needs as required.
Support students in their learning and development in line with local and national learning strategies, as directed by the teacher.
Display thorough knowledge of the curriculum and efficiently handle obstacles to learning.
