HOURS 36 hours per week


RESPONSIBLE TO Admissions and IAG Team Leader


THE POST
The postholder will be a key member of the College's Admissions team and deputise for the
Admissions and IAG Team Leader when necessary to ensure there is a consistent and seamless service.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deputise for the Admissions and IAG Team Leader when necessary.
  • Provide initial information and advice about education and training opportunities at the College to current or prospective students to inform their course choice.
  • Maintain accurate records on the College's management information systems.
  • Arrange interviews when required and manage correspondence with applicants.
  • Work with the Admissions team and College colleagues on the smooth running of the in person and telephone/virtual interview process, ensuring high levels of customer service at each point of the student interview process.
  • Collect additional information regarding applicants' needs and/or previous educational history and make timely and appropriate referrals to specialist staff within the college or to external agencies as necessary to meet these needs.
  • Liaise closely with curriculum to arrange interviews and provide data on number of applicants and offers.
  • Maintain links with curriculum and business support teams to update course knowledge and follow up on applicant queries.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • To participate fully in appraisal according to the College requirements and undertake training and development likely to improve personal knowledge and skills as required.
  • To keep up to date with Quality Improvement initiatives and to be aware of, and meet, service standards for the department.
  • To propose any ideas that may help to promote and extend the College's reputation and efficient running of the College.
  • To undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with College policies inclusive of Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection, Quality and Financial regulations. To report any concerns to the appropriate person.
  • To use appropriate management information to recognise and support diversity in the student cohort.
  • To work safely, consider the safety of others and work within the guidelines stated in the College Health and Safety Policy.
  • To be available to assist in enrolment procedures. This may require additional hours including evenings and weekends, particularly during the autumn term.
  • To work flexibly, this will include evenings, open events, parents' evenings and possibly weekends. Where this requires working outside normal working hours (eg evening/weekend working) time off in lieu arrangements will apply.
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with your level of responsibility as may be required by the College Leadership Team.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE


Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year, rising to 30 days per year after 5 years' service, plus 3 days for planned closures of the College, and Bank/Public holidays normally observed in England and Wales.

All of the above checks must have been completed
before the start of the employment.
