Head of Delivery - Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

London / Surrey

Fourblue is working with a leading battery storage company committed to advancing the energy sector through the development, construction, and maintenance of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the UK.

Position Overview:

As the Head of Delivery you will be responsible for leading the delivery pf grid scale BESS assets between 50-120MW across the UK.

You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of projects from conception to handover.

You will play a key role in driving project efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction by overseeing project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

Your strategic leadership will be critical in driving project delivery excellence and achieving organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:
Oversee project management activities, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.

Engineering Management:
Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering team throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure engineering deliverables meet technical requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
Lead procurement and supply chain activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and material procurement.

Construction Management:
Direct construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards. Coordinate with construction teams to optimise resource utilisation and mitigate construction-related risks.

Commissioning and Handover:
Oversee commissioning activities to ensure the successful integration and testing of BESS assets.

Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams. Foster positive relationships and facilitate clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
Proven UK experience in project management, with a focus on delivering largescale infrastructure projects, preferably in the renewable energy or power sector
Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading and managing multidisciplinary project teams
Sound knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and regulatory requirements.
