Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,762 to £32,411 with potential progression once in post to £36,333

Grade 6

Part Time (40hrs per Month), Fixed Term contract up to July 2023

Background


We are looking to recruit a research assistant to work as part of small team on a seed project exploring: The role of social work in supporting older adults who experience violence or abuse within family and care relationships in later life.

The research assistant's role is to work alongside the project lead on a scoping literature review. The expectation is that the review is published in an academic journal with the research assistant as co-author.

The research assistant will also contribute to planning and promotion a stakeholder event/s at which they will be invited to present their work.


This role is for approximately 40 hours a month for six months however the team welcome enquiries about alternative work patterns.


For those interested in applying, an interest in and prior work (academic or practice-focused) of adult social care and/or domestic or sexual violence and/or a related field is desirable.

Knowledge of and familiarity carrying out a literature review is a significant advantage.


Role Summary
The research assistant's principal role is to work alongside the project lead on a scoping literature review.

Main Duties

  • Contribute to all stages of the scoping literature review
  • Support the planning and promotion of partnership events
  • Present research outputs, including drafting academic publications (e.g. at seminars and as posters)

Person Specification

  • An interest in and prior work (academic or practicefocused) of adult social care and/or domestic or sexual violence and/or a related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity carrying out a literature review is a significant advantage
