This is a key strategic hire for Preqin.

The General Partners Business Unit is responsible for a large proportion of the customer base covering fund managers across all alternative asset classes and placement agents with significant opportunity for growth and expansion.


As Head of General Partners Business Unit you will be responsible for all aspects of the General Partners customer segment at Preqin including but not limited to revenue, data quality, product development and customer retention.

Responsibilities:


In this role you will:


  • As the head of the Business Unit (BU), you will be responsible for the BU vision, strategy, business plans, growth, execution, innovation and budget to ensure strong and sustainable growth of the BU.
  • Lead a team encompassing Product Management, Product Development, Data Research and Data Operations. You will also work closely with crossfunctional teams that support your BU i.e. Technology, Sales, Marketing and Data Science to ensure strong customer engagement and full alignment across all aspects of the BU vision and strategy.
  • Work collaboratively across functions, BUs and with customers to identify white space opportunities and elevate the product quality, coverage, capabilities and outreach to a new level.
  • Instill and drive a culture of customer centricity and ensure all team members fully understand the importance of data quality to our customers.
  • Report into the Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with the Executive Committee to discuss financial performance, data KPIs and execution of business plans.

Qualifications:

You are a good fit if:

  • Previous experience working for a top tier strategy consultancy or leading investment bank required
  • Ideally, experience working at a fund manager or with previous exposure to fund manager capital formation and/or investment processes
  • A solid understanding of a B2B SaaS revenue model
  • Successful track record partnering with and influencing executivelevel stakeholders
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, pragmatic, commercial, highly analytical, clear communicator, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Complete ownership of entire workstreams and very strong attention to detail
  • Good knowledge and a vision of the use cases of General Partners engaged in alternative assets with regards their data and operational needs
  • Ability to lead a crossfunctional team as well as influencing other areas of the business with a collaborative approach
  • Proven ability to develop strategy and execute plans to fulfil strategy
  • Clear communicator, from talking with customers, team members, the Executive Committee, and companywide presentations
  • Be results driven and can build strong trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers to deliver the results
